Look at me… reviewing anti-ageing moisturizers. Well, I thought I could find a way to stop time from running but unfortunately, I couldn’t. Neither can you my loves. I age, you age, we age. And it is not a bad thing, you know. As long as you don’t look like a raisin!
You won’t avoid having wrinkles. But if you take good care of them, they won’t look as bad as they’d look on a face that hasn’t ever been moisturized. And honestly you don’t need much. If you cannot afford a full anti-ageing set, and by that I mean moisturizers, serums, masks and so on, a single moisturizing cream and plenty of water can do the job.
We are currently at the end of the winter/beginning of spring. It has been 3 months now, that I finally tried the Clinique Superdefense moisturizer. I honestly never was a big fan of Clinique products but I was happily surprised by this one.
It claims to do a lot of things.First of all it provides UVA and UVB protection, something that I personally really need ,considering that I live in Greece. (I know that you hate me right now – it’s ok.)
Not only it provides a really good sun protection (SPF 25), it also protects your skin from environmental pollution, stress and all that other ageing factors. Lastly, it hydrates your skin and smooths out fine lines.
The texture is not the thinnest you could find but it absorbs really well without leaving a greasy feeling. It doesn’t leave your face matte though. If you have really oily skin you may have some greasiness issues, especially in the warmer months.
I don’t really know if my skin is stress or pollution protected, but these 3 months that I have been using it, it feels extremely soft and I didn’t have any break outs! Please note that last year (one year before my 30s) I had some major hormonal break out problems all year long, that I couldn’t get rid off! With this one I haven’t have a single spot, even that time of the month! I am so obsessed with this moisturizer now, that I am scared to try a new one.
And now come the bad news. Clinique decided to change the formula and came out with a new one. They even changed the name to Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20. Has anyone tried it?
Until next time…
Lots of love
