“If the Heavens ever did speak, she is the last true mouthpiece “
Lyrics from the Song ‘Take me to church’ by Hozier
How many weddings have you attended you really believed in?How many times did those vows gave you the thrills (in a good way)?Me?Only a few.
Attending weddings is not my thing. In a society in which egocentricity and selfishness are glorified, it has become more and more difficult for me to recognize the real motives of the couple. What does “I love you” really mean? “I love you” but… I love fries too. Why do we use the same verb? Is there any difference? (the linguistic psycho in me is making his first appearance-let’s say hello!)
Anyway, we’re not here to open such deep, PLATO-like discussion… or are we?And don’t get me wrong, I believe in marriage.I really do. But I think it is most beautiful when given the right enviroment, time and motives. And that was exactly the case in this wedding I was invited to a couple weeks ago.You could feel it in the air that these two were made for each other. You could feel the love and appreciation.Needless to say, I was dewy-eyed the whole time.Yep, hard for me to admit but I may have shed a tear… ok… some tears… ok…the Niagara falls were on my face that day.
As you may understand it was the perfect opportunity for me to ckeck the lasting power of my make-up on that day. And I have to say, I was surprised by the results. I won’t talk about that in detail in this post, but I will definitely give you an overview of the products I used.
So, let’s talk about the perfect wedding-as-a-guest outfit! I may be fan of bold fashion sometimes but a wedding is definitely not the right occasion where you can wear your skull necklaces, super-high platform heels or super-mini dresses with pride! In my opinion your outfit should be ‘humble’ but yet classy and talkworthy. Don’t make an appearance as Lady Gaga! The bride should be the centre of attention, not you.
My outfit of the day, from head to toe, was from ZARA.So as you can see I went for this flowy peach-nude top, which was the highlight of the whole outfit. I paired it with some skinny black jeans and these amazing, super comfy nude heels. Honestly, you could go jogging in these heels! No, I haven’t tried it yet BUT I was on the dance floor wearing those heels for a pretty long time I would say. Later that night I changed to a pair of flats but the only reason I did so is because I didn’t want to ruin those heels. As you can imagine I went crazy with my dance moves!
As for the make-up I wanted something really long-lasting, considering the fact that it was pretty hot that day and also I knew that there was a possibility of me crying like an old lady!
